Here on the Sunshine Coast, we take our coffee very seriously. So seriously in fact, that we have our very own coffee guild!
Happily, there are so many places to choose from when it comes to finding that perfect brew-tiful cup of coffee.
You might love a nook in Caloundra somewhere, but your friend swears their local in Mooloolaba is the only place to go, the options are seemingly endless.
To celebrate International Coffee Day this month, we have put our tastebuds together and are sharing our favourite spots to get our caffeine fix! In no particular order (because that would be impossible), here are our picks for the best coffee on the Sunshine Coast.
☕ Caloundra
White Picket Fence, Caloundra
Right on Bulcock St, White Picket Fence is pouring ‘The Cats Pyjamas’, a rich chocolatey blend from a Brisbane-based micro-roastery. With pink arched windows, a gravel courtyard, and palm-fringed vibes, this café is Instagram heaven.
The Pocket Espresso Bar, Moffat Beach
A favourite among locals, this seaside gem serves up specialty brews with ocean views. The laid-back atmosphere and quality coffee make it the perfect post-swim stop.
☕ Maroochydore
Glass Wholefoods, Cotton Tree
Known for clean, nourishing food and consistently smooth coffee, Glass Wholefoods serves up healthy bites alongside brews that hit the spot. Bright, welcoming, and perfect for a laid-back morning.
John Kyle Espresso, Maroochydore
A local favourite for great coffee and hearty breakfasts, John Kyle Espresso pairs a minimalist vibe with friendly service and consistently excellent cups.
The Bird and the Beans, Buderim
Run from a converted garage, this old-school joint is known for excellent coffee, delicious eats, and cool, Insta-worthy décor.
☕ Mooloolaba
Black Market Espresso Bar, Mooloolaba
Serving beans from Clandestino Roasters, this café weighs every cup for the perfect brew. Paired with Mooloolaba’s relaxed beach vibe, it’s a local favourite.
The Velo Project, Mooloolaba
Eclectic and full of character, The Velo Project dishes up locally sourced food and consistently excellent coffee. Expect quirky décor and a buzzing atmosphere.
☕ Coolum
Compound, Coolum
After a surf, head here for specialty Padre Coffee. Part café, part vintage surf gallery, Compound serves up both great brews and great vibes.
Daily Dose, Coolum
Friendly staff, excellent coffee, and a chilled-out vibe make this café a must-visit. The outdoor seating is perfect for people-watching in Coolum.
☕ Kawana
Hey Day, Buddina
This bright and airy spot blends coastal cool with specialty coffee, fresh juices, and a wholesome menu that’s as Instagram-worthy as it is delicious.
Stoa, Bokarina
Minimalist design, local produce, and expertly brewed coffee make Stoa a standout. The relaxed vibe and refined menu keep locals coming back for more.

☕ Noosa
Clandestino Roasters, Noosaville
Featured in the photo above, Clandestino is housed inside Belmondo’s Organic Market and is a paradise for coffee purists. They roast their own beans and offer everything from pour-over to cold drip, making every cup memorable.
Entity Coffee, Sunshine Beach
This local roasting house and espresso bar is famed for ethically sourced single-origin beans and smooth blends. A small spot with a big reputation.
Old Salt Coffee, Noosaville
Right on the river, Old Salt is a hole-in-the-wall serving coffee with the best views around. Beans are from Flying West Roasters, milk from Maleny Dairies — it doesn’t get fresher than this.
☕ Hinterland
Flying West Roasters, Doonan
From humble beginnings at the Eumundi Markets, Flying West now roasts some of the best coffee on the Coast. Their Doonan café has an industrial vibe, lush greenery, and consistently superb coffee.
Shotgun Espresso, Maleny
This quirky hinterland spot, full of plants and mismatched furniture, serves Campos coffee alongside hearty, lovingly prepared food.
Homegrown Café, Palmwoods
Sustainability is at the heart of Homegrown. They roast their own beans, source produce from local farmers, and serve up seasonal dishes alongside excellent coffee. The garden setting is ideal for a long, lazy brunch.
☕✨ Whether you’re chasing coastal vibes or hinterland charm, the Sunshine Coast has a coffee spot to match every mood. Where will you get your next caffeine fix?
